What is DirectStay
DirectStay is a travel marketplace where you book vacation rentals directly with local Hosts. DirectStay takes no commission from your booking and adds no booking fee or service charge. Hosts pay a flat subscription for the tools instead.
Why book direct?
When a booking platform takes a cut, someone pays for it. Usually it's the traveler, through fees at checkout, and the Host, through a smaller payout. Booking direct keeps the price honest, and the Host keeps their full nightly rate.
How is it safe?
Every Host and every Traveler verifies their identity before they can message or book. Every property must meet the Guest-Ready Standard at check-in. Every booking locks its cancellation terms and comes with a signed agreement, so both sides know exactly what they agreed to. Payments run through PowerPay Direct, our payment platform, and its licensed payment partners.
Why does DirectStay write about places?
Where you stay depends on what you came to do. So DirectStay builds a guide for every destination, whether it's a city, a region or a national park, to help you pick the right place before you pick the right rental. The guides come from DirectStay, and from the Hosts and local businesses who live there.
What does "money stays local" mean?
Hosts keep their full nightly rate. DirectStay's Destination Pages also point you to verified local Providers: the diner, the outfitter, the cleaner, the festival. That way, more of what you spend stays in the town you visited.
